Strategy & Goals

The concept is to develop initially a single malt whisky distillery setup to something much more emotive of the local environment – using both local barley to produce a fantastic single malt, and using local rye (the name sake of the black mill) to produce a world-class rye whisky matured in Slovenian oak casks, all long-fermented in Slovenian Alpine larch wood washbacks and matured on site.

The distillery's annual whisky capacity will be 80,000 LPA or 635 oak whisky barrels.

Be it our logo with the renowned Črnomelj mill or the designful visual image of our products, which honour the cornerstones of Bela Krajina’s cultural heritage.
